Easter in Texas

SAMSUNG SAMSUNG We celebrated Easter on Sunday afternoon in Texas with Cliff’s family. We had a pretty traditional American type celebration. It was a lot of fun to watch the little ones look for eggs, although Leila seemed more interested to pick up leaves instead of eggs. We had some time to get to know Cliff’s family that weekend which we enjoyed. Here are a few pictures of the afternoon’s events. Leila also enjoyed the Assam Black Tea we brought for Missy from Guam. Actually she chewed on the bottle and Missy didn’t share that tea with anyone!

Joyce and I both enjoyed spending the day with our smiley grand-daughter.

Leila’s First Birthday Party

SAMSUNG Joyce and I headed to Texas last weekend. I have had a couple good meetings here but nobody wants to see pictures of meetings right? Our first event after I arrived Friday night was our granddaughter Leila’s first birthday party. Our daughterSAMSUNG Missy delayed it until we were able to be there and, in addition, it was Missy’s birthday (March 30) as well. We had a great time getting to celebrate an important milestone in Leila’s life and also enjoyed getting to know Cliff’s family a little better. Here are a few of the many pictures we took.

Joyce and I in San Diego

I joined Joyce in San Diego on March 26th. I was able to get a lot of business done: I met with an old friend and education colleague in Hawaii on the way out and made considerable headway on a partnership between our schools, interviewed a couple potential new PIU staff members, talked with a foundation guy etc. I could post pictures of all that (and I am thankful for the great connections God gave me in San Diego) but I would rather post pictures of my new grand-daughter and family time there in San Diego. We are blessed!

Joyce in San Diego

A while back I posted that Joyce had gone to California for the birth of our grand-daughter Keiahni, which I also posted about last month. I am now with Joyce and have a little more access to her pictures and thought I would post a few. I will also post a bit about what I have been doing on the mainland. Joyce had a good time with Matt, Kristin, Milo and Keiahni for about three weeks before I got there. So here are a few pictures from her time there.

She got to spend some time with my mom and dad (left) and her mom and dad when they came down to San Diego.

It was a bit cold there

She got some nice family pictures

Joyce got to visit Milo’s school

And take a trip to Disneyland

They went on a hike
