Celebration of National Day of the Republic of China

SAMSUNG              This last week Joyce and I were privileged to attend the 101st celebration of the founding of the Republic of China. The people of Guam and Taiwan have had a long friendly relationship SAMSUNG and there is a lot of economic interaction between the two islands. Even though this event is celebrated here right around every October 10th, Joyce and I had never been invited to the event until this year. We enjoyed getting to meet a lot of people from the government community on Guam and saw a lot of old friends there.

On the left, the legislators of Guam make a presentation. On the right we pose with our good friends Dr. and Mrs. Chen. I also want everyone to see that occasionally we do dress up here.

SAMSUNG Here are a few more pictures of Friday of Spirit Week at PIU. After the day’s events we all wentSAMSUNG over to Faith Presbyterian and Reformed Church for a barbecue and evening worship service. Our friends at Faith hosted the group of marines and sailors and sent them over to us for the day’s project. We enjoyed the good food, fellowship and the Voices of Micronesia participated in the worship service. It was one a very enjoyable and blessed day.

Spirit Friday #1

SAMSUNGThe last day of Spirit Week was an event filled day. SAMSUNG The theme was “Character Day” in which the PIU family came dressed as a “character” whatever that meant. We also had “church ministry” chapel in which students talked about the various church ministries they are involved in and invited the new students. We also had a group of marines and sailors who spent the day with us, joined us for chapel, and did several projects on campus. There would be more evening events which I will put in the next post since I have quite a few pictures.
