PIU’s 2nd Annual 5K Run, Walk, Wheel

2013-5k-Web-Homepage_smYesterday we all got up very early in the morning to participate in the 2nd Annual PIU 5K. SAMSUNG This year I ran with Mike, Titus, and Courage. By the way, we are very thankful that Mike is up and running again as it was May of 2011 when he had his extensive knee surgery. It was a beautiful day for the run, cool but without rain. We had a good turnout from the Guam and PIU communities and good support from many businesses and friends of PIU to make it a successful event. I took a few pictures as I ran. (This would explain why some are a bit blurry! Smile

Workers were there before sunrise to make sure everyone was properly registered. Samantha was the overall coordinator for the event and did a great job.

The runners did a little warm up and then we were off.

Most of the route involved a lane on Route 15. We really appreciate Mangilao mayor Nito Blas and the Guam Running Club working with us to make sure the race went smoothly and all the runners were safe

The Owen Team all finished the race. Courage and Titus both sprinted across the finish line although Titus was often distracted by flat frogs and other road-kill along the route

Samantha presented the certificate awards after the race with the “help” of Titus and Courage
