Yesterday we did something a little different in chapel. PIU administrator Jamie Mason was the chapel speaker Friday. His background is in drama, and he had some of the staff and students perform some scenes from the Archibald McLeish play J.B. I got to play God and Mike played the part of Satan. Josh, our admissions coordinator, played Job and Patleen was Job’s wife. Jamie was the narrator. After the play we took about 20 minutes to discuss the ideas in the play and in the book of Job. I think drama is a very effective way to get across biblical truth to the island cultures (actually this is true pretty much anywhere). I am hoping that we can do more of this kind of thing and encourage our students to teach this way as well.
My life “Mission Verse” is Ezra 7.10, I believe God has given me a ministry of teaching the Bible wherever I go, in a way that relates it to the people around me, whoever they are. So I will share here what is going in my head, my life, my family, my challenges, my trials, my heart etc. I’ll try my best to do it openly and honestly and to share what God is saying to me through his word and all the other things in my life without holding anything back.
