Sunday in Susanville

Sorry I have been away for a few days. We had no internet connection at the retreat center where we stayed in Santa Cruz last week and we had no time to go to a coffee shop or other hot spot. In my next post I will post this week's VOM schedule. Hopefully I will be able to make a few posts to get you caught up with what is happening with the Voices of Micronesia. Last Sunday we finished up our performances in Susanville. We sang in the Palauan and English services at 1st Baptist Susanville and then joined the other churches of Susanville for an evening singspiration. We finished the evening at the home of a Chuukese family enjoying island food and fellowship. Here are a few pictures of our day....
"Hey Pwipwi" is a fun song where the students go out into the audience invite them to hear the Word of God

Getting ready for the Palauan service to start

The guys' trio sounded great

The quartet sounded good too.

PIU asst. Dean of Women, Daisy Murdock talked about how God called her to ministry at PIU

Pastor Jake shared his vision for Micronesians ministering and worshiping together in the Micronesian communities in the USA

The women's worship dance went with the song "Change My Heart O God"

Meluat gave a powerful testimony about how God rescued him from suicide and other destructive behaviors

Leeman preached a very clear, biblical and relevant sermon. He did a great job even thought it was his first time preaching in a church

In the evening the VOM joined with the church bluegrass band. The island sounds and country music blended perfectly

Kita's mom saw me reading your blog while at Truk Stop, got super excited, and came over and talked to me for a while. I definitely have dinner plans this next week because of that and it's been so cool to connect with a student's parents. I'm praying for you all!

Kita did a great job giving her testimony in the last two performances. We are all very proud of her. Thanks for the prayers. We are praying for you too.
