Passion Chapel at PIU

Tuesday’s chapel was a meditation on the passion week events presented through dramatic reading, multi-media, audience participation drama, liturgy and music. It was a powerful way to present the suffering of Jesus for us during that week, and the whole audience sat kind of stunned as the program ended in the darkness as we meditated on the death and burial of Christ and anticipated the resurrection.

Mike and Samantha planned the chapel with their discipleship group. Mike invited everyone to get out of the chairs and recline on cushions to experience the program. Titus quickly accepted that invitation.

The students read the various parts in the drama and led the singing. Jesse – Jesus, Josh – Pontius Pilate, Philip – Peter, Jonie – High Priest, Mike – Pharisees, Davy – Judas, Scott – Roman Soldier, Charity – Serving Girl, and Kita did a great job as the narrator.

Everyone really jumped in surprise when Jesus overturned the tables in the Temple!

We all participated in the Last Supper

Serenity sat with me and helped me take some pictures. Here are the pictures she took.
