As many of you know the Owen Family headed from Guam to Southern California last week to receive the 2015 Clyde Cook Missions Alumni award from Biola University. It was a blessing and honor for us and for all the people of Pacific Islands University. PIU has a long history of relationship with Biola. The original plan for PIBC came out of a dissertation by the 1st PIU president, Roland Rauchholz, for the Biola School of Intercultural Studies. So it was a very cool thing for us to have Biola recognize PIU as a ministry of many Biola alumni. It was also a blessing for us because Joyce’s parents, Dale and Marion Cundall, also received the Biola Alumni Legacy award. So it was a family reunion for us and we are thankful for Biola providing the resources for us to fly and stay there. I don’t have any pictures of the alumni chapel (as soon as Biola posts the video of the chapel service I will post the link here) but have pictures of the award ceremony and many other events of the day. Family picture on the left and picture of the awardees on the right.
We receive our chapel instructions. Courage is happy to be there
Award pictures were taken after chapel
More award pictures
And some good conversations
The grandkids enjoyed themselves
And our parents enjoyed themselves too

We had a chance to talk about PIU and thank Biola in our speeches. We then spent the afternoon filming video for Biola’s alumni/publicity department. More to come…
