Monday night was the last session of my summer class Survey of the Gospels. Over the last 15 weeks we have been analyzing the message and structures of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The class started with 8 students and ended with the five you see pictured here. As is our custom we had the last class around the dinner table and the living room. Over dinner we discussed new insights from the Gospels and tried to sum up the the impact of the class. After dessert we went into the living room and three of the students presented their theme papers. Each presentation dealt with how a theme was covered through all four gospels. We discussed the worldwide mission to the Gentiles, the cost of discipleship and Jesus’ approach to the outcasts of society. There was a lot of good discussion. I am looking forward to teaching Survey of the New Testament next week for the Fall semester.
My life “Mission Verse” is Ezra 7.10, I believe God has given me a ministry of teaching the Bible wherever I go, in a way that relates it to the people around me, whoever they are. So I will share here what is going in my head, my life, my family, my challenges, my trials, my heart etc. I’ll try my best to do it openly and honestly and to share what God is saying to me through his word and all the other things in my life without holding anything back.
