Yesterday the Gideons held their monthly public Bible reading at PIU and several PIU staff and faculty participated along with many of our friends from the Guam church community. This public reading is held on the first Saturday of every month. Next month it will take place at the Merizo pier. Greg Calvo, PIU advisory board member, was the organizer of the event. To me, the coolest thing about the Bible reading is that it highlights all the different languages that are lifted in worship to God here on Guam every day. Yesterday the Bible was read aloud in Chamorro, English, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese and Chuukese. Yesterday we read through the books of 1 and 2 Samuel and the 2nd part of the Gospel of Luke.
Each person read a chapter in turn
