Owen Family Christmas #4–Fun In Our Own Backyard

SAMSUNG Here on Guam we don’t have to wait for summer to have barbecues in our backyard. With the cool breezes and mild temperatures we get in “Guam winters” December and January are the best times of the year to be outside. So we also took some time to stay home and enjoy our own backyard, roast marshmallows, look at sunsets, eat and drink coconuts and enjoy living on a tropical island. We had a bit more rain than is usual in December but that still left plenty of sunshine by day and starry skies by night.

When they went out to roast marshmallows Joyce and the kids caught and killed a Guam Brown Tree Snake. We had not seen one at our house in some time. About 3 years ago we were averaging killing one a month but the eradication efforts here must be working because we rarely see one. And, no, we did not eat the snake.

Joyce set up a table in the carport for the kids to use for play dough and games

The hammock in the back yard was another popular spot

We did eventually get to roasting and eating marshmallows

The marshmallows were greatly enjoyed
