The main reason I was in Hong Kong was not for vacation – although I enjoyed the days at each end of the trip. I was there as the chairman of the visiting team from TRACS to evaluate the self-study of Bethel Bible Seminary. I had been part of the team that evaluated Bethel for accreditation candidacy in 2013 so I was happy to be part of the team that would evaluate them for fully accredited status. It was a real privilege to be able to help a school that has been making a tremendous impact for Christ since 1925. The school administration, especially the president, Dr. Fai Luk, and the Dean of Research and Development, Annisa Wong, hosted us very graciously and I enjoyed getting to know them and the school a little better. I think I learn as much on these visits as I help the schools we visit. I hope I will be able to visit again in the future. On the left I am standing at the front gate of the school. On the right, The TRACS team (seated) with the Bethel Seminary personnel behind us.
We sat in on some classes and interviewed everyone from the president to the students
After the visit concluded we headed downtown for a celebratory dinner..
which included Peking Duck
And a very interesting, and tasty, hot banana dessert dipped into a cold glaze
