2016-05-28 19.37.24Joyce and I arrived Saturday night in Taiwan.2016-05-28 15.36.20 I am here as part of the TRACS team evaluating Christ’s College in Taipei. Joyce used our miles and accompanied me. We had to take different itineraries to get here, but after a mix up, caused by us arriving in different terminals, we managed to get to our hotel as the last of the team members to arrive. We are staying at the Grand Hotel which is very opulent. We enjoyed a quiet Sunday morning walking around the hotel and then went to the Palace Museum to see the treasures of Chiang Kai-Shek. I was not allowed to take pictures there so no opportunity to show the amazingly intricate and very old artwork that is housed there. We are also enjoying good food, including the giant mango we bought at the Night Market. TRACS work starts this afternoon. The picture above is in front of the entry gate and left we are in the lobby posing in front of the tree made of orchids. On the right Joyce is in the coffee shop.

In one of the hallways there is a display of pictures of dignitaries that have stayed at the hotel. Along with Eisenhower, Elizabeth Taylor and Charles Bronson there were pictures of the Presidents of Palau and the Marshall Islands. Sorry about the flash reflection.
