PIU Days began Friday afternoon with the opening ceremony and the team cheer competition. It is the mid-point of the semester and the students, faculty and staff have been anticipating this weekend celebration and the week of Spring break to follow. The Angels team was in charge of the Friday worship service and their “off-the hook” cheer won the cheering competition. After the first day the team scores are Saints 28, Angels 21, Lions 9. Here are a few pictures of the days’ events.
The men’s basketball game tipped off the sports events for the day. The Lions pulled off a very close 39-36 victory over the Saints.
Samantha and the kids had a good spot to enjoy the game. After the game the mighty young Lions celebrate their victory.
The Lions’ women then went out and defeated the Saints in volleyball. On the left you can see that the team is pumped, psyched and ready to play.
The Angels’ colors dominated the stage for the evening fellowship. They began their program with a special song from the guys
The Angels team wrote and performed a couple new songs. They did a great job and the songs were beautiful. For PIU days all the students, the staff, faculty and their families are all included in the teams
The big angels performed a song, followed by the little angels
PIU alum John Tomada preached on Psalm 34.7 on the theme that “since God’s presence is always with us, we do not need to fear.”
