One of the bonuses of this trip to Alaska was getting see our foster daughter Valerie and her family. Valerie lived with us 1998-2000 and moved to Alaska soon after. We had kind of lost track of her until we re-connected on Facebook a few years ago. When she heard that we were coming to Anchorage she insisted that we stay at her house and meet her family. It was really a blessing to us and we enjoyed very much getting to meet her husband and two kids. Again, it is such a great encouragement to see the young people who have been part of our lives continuing to do well and be positive forces in their families and communities.
We got “bonus grandkids” and had a great time playing with Isis and Carter.
Valerie lives right next to this beautiful lake and park so we could walk over there in the evening. I will post some more pictures of some of our activities with them in future posts.
